Growing in Faith

God offers us his grace to save us from our sinful ways we just have to have a saving faith. ( May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.) 2 Peter 1:2Growing in Faith (The NIV and the message)3. By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.10 So, dear brothers and sisters,[c] work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. 11 Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Paying Attention to Scripture12 Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught. 13 And it is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live.[d] 14 For our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that I must soon leave this earthly life,[e] 15 so I will work hard to make sure you always remember these things after I am gone.16 For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes 17 when he received honor and glory from God the Father. The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”[f] 18 We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.19 Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines[g] in your hearts. 20 Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding,[h] 21 or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.(II Peter 1:3-10; 3:18)? Live in peace with each other. 14And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. 16. Be joyful always; 17. pray continually; 18. give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 19. Do not put out the Spirit's fire; 20. do not treat prophecies with contempt. 21. Test everything. Hold on to the good. 22. Avoid every kind of evil. 23. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. (I Thessalonians 5)Study (John 5:39), and apply what we have learned through our studies (I Corinthians 9:27, I Timothy 4:16 and James 1:21-25); Learn all you can about him and apply it to your life.10 Satan will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them (II Thessalonians 2:10). 7 They will continue to grow stronger, and each of them will appear before God in Jerusalem (psalms 84:7)18 The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day. Proverbs 4:186. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.(Philippians 1:6)9. I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. 11. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ[a]—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.Philippians 1:9-11Holy Bible. “God is a loving God, no matter what, but he does not Love our Sin that's why he sent his Son to save us. We are saved by Grace, not by service. But with our saving Grace we should try to reach those who are unsaved and try to live a holy life. He prepares us in advance for Christ to work through us from the Holy Spirit we receive when we are saved. We cannot do this ourselves. God gave us freewill, so when sin is in our lives it is our choice not Gods that we chose to seperate ourselves from God when we choose sin. We sometimes wonder why we pray and don't get the answers we want. In these times we need to take a closer look at our walk, sometimes god may be trying to gently let us know there are somethings in our lives that arent' right. Ask him to reveal these things to you, and ask for forgiveness of these things, sometimes it is the sin in our lives they keeps us from reaping the full blessings God has to offer us. He still loves us but he urges us through the coviction of the holy spirit to askfor forgiveness. We know right from wrong but the human flesh sometimes still choose wrong over right. Its just like when your children do wrong, sometimes the choices they make hurt you but you still love them.None of us is perfect, we will Sin (1 John 2:1), but we are not to practice Sin (Heb 10:26-31, 1 John 3:6-10).1 John 2:3–6 (NLT) A life that is SURRENDERING ALL TO JESUS—and putting the "FLESH UNDER" (Gal 2:20). True Salvation should always result in a changed life (2 Cor 5:17), where you "Pick up your Cross Daily & Follow Jesus" (Luke 9:23-27). Conforming us into the image of Jesus, and not to the World (Rom 12:2). We certainly are not saying that we will never stumble or fall— having sinless perfection ( Peter had sinned by denying Jesus Luke 22:54-61 etc.), but it is a life that does NOT minimize God's Word; a life that humbly submits to the Word of God and lives it. 3 And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. 4 If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. 5 But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love himGods love when we receive his gift is not conditional it is unconditional love but when we receive that gift we also receive the holy spirit . . Christ knows the desires of your Heart. Ask him for guidance in all situations. Remember, you must believe to receive. Read his word every day, and you will grow in Knowledge and Wisdom, and will draw nearer to him. We are all humam and we cannot live our life without him we can try but you will do nothing but struggle.Hebrews 4:16 Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of Grace, so that we may receive mercy and find Grace to help in time of need......” New Living Translation (NLT)Holy Bible.
